Michelle Obama – Best Candidate for 2020 Election, Poll Says

Not even a full year after Donald Trump’s election as president, many people have already begun strategizing on how to ensure that he is not elected for another term.

Glamour Magazine reports Douglas Schoen, a pollster who worked on with the Bill Clinton campaign, suggests that our former First Lady Michelle Obama would be the perfect candidate to run.

“[Speaking] as an analyst, Michelle Obama is clearly the Democrats’ best chance to reunite the party and win back the White House in 2020,” Schoen stated. “Michelle Obama is perceived as a strong, well-qualified leader with immense national popularity. Broadly, the polls show she is respected by the American people and by the near-entirety of the Democratic Party.”

Michelle Obama has outperformed Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton, and Donald Trump in the opinion polls. She also completed her term as First Lady with a 68 percent approval rating. Barack Obama is also viewed very fondly among Americans with an approval rate of 52 percent of voters which states that they would like him to serve another term.

However, unless Michelle does a total mental 360, her running as a candidate is unlikely to happen.

“Politics is tough, and it’s hard on a family…. I wouldn’t ask my children to do this again because, when you run for higher office, it’s not just you; it’s your whole family,” she said in a conference in April. “There’s just so much more we can do outside of the office because we won’t have the burden of political baggage.”

Newsweek reports that Michelle added that regardless of some of the Democrats hopes that she would run for office, “people don’t really understand how hard this is. It’s not something that you cavalierly just sort of ask a family to do again.”

Barack has stated similar sentiments, “…and Michelle is not running for president. That I can tell you,” he stated at a Town Hall in 2016. “The work she has done around reducing childhood obesity, the work she and Jill Biden have done on military families…I could not be prouder of her, and she is going to be very active as an ex-First Lady.”

It seems like our chances of having Michelle Obama as our future president is very slim, but at least we can count on her to remain active throughout our country.

Is America ready for Michele Obama to be President of the United States?
