First Lady Michele Obama opened up day 1 of this year’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and as usual, she stole the show. Mrs. Obama delivered a message of hope and unity. She even addressed Donald Trump‘s negativity without mentioning his name.
There were a number of extraordinary takeaways from FLOTUS’ speech. For example, when she illustrated Beyoncé’s lyrics: “Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.”
“I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves, and I watch my daughters, two beautiful and intelligent black young women, playing with their dogs on the White House lawn,”
First Lady Michelle Obama said.
Mrs. Obama’s poise and grace exuded beyond the convention’s floor and into the homes of the millions of Americans that tuned in. Her speech was bittersweet but I have a feeling we’ll see a lot more of Mrs. Obama in the future. If you missed her captivating speech, watch it below:
