Retired NFL Player Todd Heap Strikes and Kills 3-Year-Old Daughter

Retired NFL star Todd Heap struck and killed his 3-year-old daughter Friday afternoon. There were no signs of impairment but an investigation was launched.

According to police reports, the former Ravens and Cardinals tight end was moving his truck forward in his driveway when the child was hit. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Heap played 12 seasons in the NFL, 10 with the Ravens and his last two with the Cardinals, retiring in 2012. He was selected to Pro Bowls in the 2002 and 2003 seasons and amassed 5,869 yards and 42 touchdowns in his career.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Todd Heap and his family.
