Today Marks 9 Years Since Michael Jackson Passed

9 years ago today, the world lost legendary singer and icon, Michael Jackson from an accidental drug overdose in his home in Los Angeles.

From his time with the Jackson 5 to his solo career, the performer continuously captivated audiences with his charm, his dance moves, and his kind heart.

Many across the world have taken to social media to remember the King of Pop and his best moments. Some celebrities including Jean Claude Van Dam, Brooke Shields, and sister, La Toya Jackson have all made statements to celebrate the life of the icon.

Michael Jackson’s fans across the globe shared their feelings surrounding the loss of the artist today. The singer touched millions of lives with his music and his focus on important issues affecting everyone, regardless of race. He was a crusader for justice and equality to many. He wrote “We are the World” with Lionel Richie and performed it as an all star packed single in 1988 to raise money for Africa. He donated the proceeds from the sales of The Man In The Mirror to Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, a camp for children who suffer from cancer. In 1992, he established the Heal The World Foundation, whose work has included airlifting 6 tons of supplies to Sarajevo, instituting drug and alcohol abuse education and donating millions of dollars to less fortunate children.
