“A Day Without A Woman” is giving some kids a day without school and some moms aren’t happy about that. Alexandria schools will be closed tomorrow because hundreds of staff members including teachers are taking the day off as part of a national protest. “A Day Without A Woman'” is designed to show how important women are to the workforce. Some parents, though, tell the “Washington Post” the teachers are hurting working moms who now have to scramble to find daycare they might not be able to afford. Prince George’s County School leaders have not announced their decision.

House Republicans are taking their first step toward repealing and replacing Obamacare. They have revealed their own plan, which will be considered by two House committees starting tomorrow. It provides monthly tax credits to help lower and middle-class Americans buy coverage if they don’t get it from their employer and keeps existing condition protections in place.
HUD Secretary Ben Carson in hot water with A.A’s after calling slaves immigrants…
Ben Carson is trying to explain comments he made about slaves in a speech to Housing and Urban Development employees yesterday. Carson spoke about “other immigrants” who “came here in the bottom of slave ships” but still had a dream. Later on Facebook, the new HUD secretary acknowledged that “the slave narrative and immigrant narrative are two entirely different experiences.”
