DC & Prince George’s Co. Police both search for a killer…

Right now DC homicide detectives are looking for the suspect who shot a man last night on 13th Street in N.E. The victim has not been identified. In College Park, Police there are looking for a suspect in a double shooting Sunday. One man was killed inside of an apartment in the 9300 block of Cherry Hill Road.

Vigil for a 16-year-old killed by would-be robber …

Today friends and family of 16-year-old Zaire Kelly will hold a vigil and pep rally to mark his life. Kelly was shot during the attempted robbery just steps from his Brentwood home earlier this month. Kelly was able to stab his attacker who later died of his injuries. He has been identified as 19-year-old Sequan Gillis.

Today is the 60th Anniversary of the Little Rock 9…

Sixty years to go today nine little black kids broke the color barrier at Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas. They became the Little Rock 9 and after having to be escorted by Federal guards they endure an extremely difficult year at the school. Today’s celebration at the school will be attended by 8 of the 9 surviving members. The keynote will be delivered by former President Bill Clinton.
