DC Quadruple Shooting Leaves NFL Rookie Injured

Minnesota Vikings player Jaylen Twyman shot four times in NE DC.

Washington, D.C. (Tuesday, June 22, 2021) – D-C police are looking for suspects and motives in a quadruple shooting.  It happened last evening in the 300 block of 50th Street, NE.  Among those injured are NFL rookie Jaylen Twyman who is a graduate of H.D. Woodson High School.  Twyman was a star athlete at the school and was in DC over the weekend visiting relatives.

Twyman’s injuries are said to be non-life threatening and he is expected to fully recover.  He is a defensive tackle for the Minnesota Vikings.  Just four years ago, Twyman’s older brother was killed less than a mile from Monday’s shooting.

Twyman’s agent reportedly told ESPN that Twyman was hit four times while visiting a relative and that the shooting was apparently a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
