DC Schools Closed Monday and Parking Fines Are Mounting In DC

DC Public Schools will be closed Monday as the region continues to recover from the storm.  DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and city officials are encouraging residents to stay off the roads and continue to allow the city to clean up from #Blizzard2016.  Residents and business owners, however, are urged to begin #TheBigDig now clearing sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses.  Residents are reminded that the city is still under a snow emergency and that fines will be imposed for motorists parking on snow emergency routes.  The fine is $250 plus towing and storage fees.

Meantime, Metro says it will announce later today the status of Metrobus and Metrorail service for Monday.
