Faith Evans And Lil’ Kim Collaborate On Biggie Love Song

Faith Evans and Lil’ Kim are both known for their music and relationships with the Notorious B.I.G. Evans was married to the slain rapper and Lil’ Kim dated him. Recently, Evans discussed how she and Lil’ Kim collaborated on a song about Biggie on Evans’ new album, The King & I .

The pair have been trying to record together for awhile, but there has been a conflict in scheduling.

“Lil’ Kim and I were on the Bad Boy reunion tour together, and I had actually reached out to her to do a record a few albums ago; and it just didn’t happen because of scheduling,” Evans said.

Due to the history of their relationship with Biggie, this collaboration comes as a surprise.

“I never imagined that it would be on an album with Big and I that we could actually end up working together,” she said.

One may wonder how this song collab came about; and Evans openly shared.

” When we were rehearsing for the tour, I asked her, like, ‘Would you be interested in doing this record, which I don’t have yet?’ But I told her this whole concept for the album, and she said yes right away. And by the time we were halfway through the tour, I had the song that I thought was the perfect one,” she said.

When asking Lil’ Kim to record the song, Evans asked her to keep it real. ” I told her, like, I really want you to express how you felt for him and how his passing affected her.”
