Fire in S.E. displaces more than a dozen people, one critically hurt…

DC Fire Officials say a fire in an apartment building this morning has displaced some 19 people. One person has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Officials say the blaze was started by a stove and made worse by hoarding conditions.

Lawmakers scramble to avert a government shutdown…

45 hours and counting before a possible government shutdown. The House is set to vote today on a plan to give lawmakers four more weeks to come up with a long-term deal. The Senate, however, may not be in agreement with it. Sources say there are still some big sticking points between Republicans and Democrats in both chambers.

DC School Board approves full review of school policies…

The DC School Board has voted in favor of a full review of the public school systems policies. The decision comes just hours after an independent audit following claims of grade tampering within the 2017 graduating class of Ballou High School was released.
