The government shut down is over, now Congress has 2 weeks to work out a long-term deal…

Congress has signed off on a continuing resolution to extend payment to fund the Federal Government until February 8th. If lawmakers can not come up with a deal by then we could be facing a shutdown again. Democrats ended a filibuster and the shutdown after Republicans vowed to take up their DACA issue.

DC Police investigate an attempted abduction near a school…

DC Police are looking for the suspect who allegedly grabbed a teen girl from behind and tried to kidnap her. The victim said it happened around 8 Monday morning as she walked along Davenport Street in NW to Deale Middle School. He lifted the teen off the ground and she fought back and was able to get away unharmed.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is releasing some of the details of his proposed $5 billion dollar taxpayer plan to lure Amazon to Montgomery County. The plan includes $2 billion in road and infrastructure improvements and tax breaks equaling $3 billion dollars.
