White House Not Joining Calls For Michigan Governor To Resign

The White House is not joining calls for Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to resign over the Flint toxic water crisis. Republican Snyder has thus far refused calls to resign. Democratic presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have both urged Snyder to step down. Meantime, Earnest said the federal government is devoting “significant resources” to help the people of Flint.

Redskins Release Quarterback Robert Griffin III

The RG-3 Era that began with a boom is ending with a whisper.  The Washington Redskins released Robert Griffin the Third today, two days before the start of the 2016-17 NFL year.  The quarterback was drafted second overall by Washington in 2012 and immediately had a splashy rookie season, leading the Redskins to their first NFC East title in 13 years.  But knee injuries and poor play hampered him to the point of irrelevance.  Griffin didn’t play a single snap this past season as Kirk Cousins stepped into the starting role.  The release frees up over 16-million-dollars in cap space, which will prove valuable for the team in free agency.
