Dump Truck Driver Charged With Attempted Murder

A dump truck driver is being charged with the attempted murder of two Prince George’s County police officers.  Investigators say 31-year-old Gene Brandon Jr. of Aquasco intentionally rammed his truck into two marked police cruisers yesterday morning in the parking lot of a Glenarden shopping center.  The officers were out of the cruisers at the time and ran away from the truck’s path.

Investigation:  NFL Did Not See Rice Video Before It Went Public

The NFL’s claim that the league did not see the Ray Rice in-elevator video before it went public is being backed by an independent investigation.  Former FBI Director Robert Mueller [[ Muller ]] released results of an investigation into the NFL’s handling of the February domestic violence case involving the former Baltimore Ravens running back.  The video showed Rice knocking out his then-fiancee with a punch.

French Police Conduct Manhunt For Terror Suspects

A massive search for two suspects wanted for the deadly terrorist attack in Paris is continuing.  Thousands of heavily armed officers have been going door-to-door in a densely wooded area north of the capital city.  The entire region remains on high alert after possible sightings of the two brothers suspected of killing 12 people at the Paris offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Supreme Court To Meet On Gay Marriage

A private meeting by U.S. Supreme Court justices might finally decide if same-sex marriages must be allowed.  Tomorrow, the justices will discuss petitions from five states where lower-court judges have upheld laws banning same-sex marriages, which may once and for all clarify whether states can restrict marriage to a man and a woman.  On the same day, a federal appeals court will consider gay marriage bans in Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana.
