Two people killed in separate fires…

Fire locally claims the lives of two people. A man has died after being pulled from a home on 45th Street earlier this morning. Last night another man was found in the basement of a town home that caught on fire. The cause of both fires remain under investigation.

You can now text 911 for help in Prince George’s County…

Starting today in Prince George’s County you can now text 911 for help. The county
has update their fire and police systems to accept text, if you can not call in an emergency.

Largo teen killed at a metro station is remembered tonight…

A vigil is planned today at the Deanwood Metro Station where 15 year old Devonte Washington was shot twice in the chest at point blank range by a stranger. Police announced yesterday that, that suspect was 17 year old Maurice Bellamy of
S.E. Chief of Police Kathy Lanier says security camera’s helped with the quick arrest. Bellamy did not enter a plea yesterday in court. He remains in jail without bond.

Street closures start tonight in the District…

It’s another reminder — starting tonight several roads in and around the Washington Convention Center will be closed to traffic and at times even pedestrians for the Nuclear Security Summit that runs through Saturday. You can find a list of all
