Sweeping new changes to the VA have been announced

The new head of Veterans Affairs has announced sweeping new changes to how the Veterans Affairs cares for Vets. Secretary Robert McDonald says he plans to fire 35 administrative personnel immediately and another one thousand later. McDonald has also received approval by Congress to allow more than a million vets to get medical treatment outside of the VA. The number to the Veterans Choice Plan is 1-866-606-8198.

Montgomery County leaders hold a special ceremony to honor Vets

Montgomery County Executive, other city leaders and county veterans plan to gather today a 1pm for a special ceremony. In honor of Veterans day the plaza will be dedicated “The Memorial Plaza”. Leaders will also unveil the Eternal Flame to honor the men and women who have served our country.

DC Mayor Elect Muriel Bowser opens her door to meet her new transition team

DC Mayor Elect Muriel Bowser is hosting a open house of her new transition teams office. The office is located at One Judiciary Square. Attendee’s will get a chance to meet Bowser’s entire transition team as well as learn what her goals are for the first 100 days in office.

For a time, Taylor even spoke with a British accent. Well now she resides in the DC area and for the past three years has worked as the news anchor for The Steve Harvey Morning Show on WHUR.
