Two teens set to be arraigned for shooting on metro Tuesday…

It’s arraignment day for two teens charged with shooting a man in the back on a Green Line Metro Train yesterday. It happened at the Anacostia Metro Station. The 16 & 19 year old’s face assault with the intent to kill charges. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

More charges likely in school child abuse investigation…

The investigation into kids who may have been sexually abused by a volunteer teacher’s aide –is far from over despite 8 new Federal and 6 State charges filed yesterday. Prince George’s County newly named Police Chief Hank Stawinski says his team is focused how Deonte Carraway was able to gain the trust of the kids and then video tape the lewd acts.

DC’s Metro named the best in the country…

Now this next story may surprise you — DC Metro transit system has been named the best in the country. “Smartasset” a New York based financial tech site made the decision based on average commute time, efficiency number of commuters and income levels. San Francisco’s BART and Boston’s MBTA came in 2nd & 3rd respectively.

An African American hero dies…

The nation has lost a hero this month. The family of the first African American taken prisoner in Vietnam has confirmed the death of Veteran Pilot Colonel Fred Cherry. Cherry was tortured and held for 7 years before his release in 1973. The decorated military hero died earlier this month in Silver Spring he was 87 years old.
