New information in the Amtrak train derailment probe…

About a dozen passengers remain unaccounted for, 7 are confirmed dead, 8 remain in critical condition. They are expected to survive. Other passengers injured are at hospitals throughout the city. The NTSB has reported that Amtrak train 188 was going 106 mph when it took the curb on the track, over two times the legal speed limit for the area. NTSB officials say it too early to state the cause of the crash. The train operator says he does not remember the crash. He has hired an attorney.

Prince George’s County Police are searching for the male who sexually assaulted a 12 year old in Forestville…

Prince George’s County Police are hoping the release of a video of a male will help them find out who sexually assaulted a 12 year old girl in Forestville yesterday. The young girl says she got into an elevator with the male and when she got off on her floor he followed her and sexually assaulted her. The incident happened in an apartment building in the 21-hundred block of Brooks Drive.

Two new members are added to the DC City Council…

Today two new City Council member who won this springs special elections will be sworn into office. Tonight at 6:30 a special ceremony will be held for the Ward 4 winner Brandon Todd and Ward 8 winner LaRuby May at the Wilson Building.
