Suicide bomber dressed like a student kills dozens of children in Nigeria

ABC News is reporting a suicide bomber in Nigeria killed 48 children and injured dozens more. Witnesses say the bomber was dressed like a student. The bomb was detonated as the High School children gathered in the Northeastern city of Potiskum. It’s believed that the violence was caused by militant Muslim group Boko Haram. They however, have not accepted any responsibility for the blood shed.

DC Mayor elect holds an open house

DC Mayor Elect Muriel Bowser will hold an open house at her transition teams office. Today’s 1pm event at One Judiciary Square is open to the public. Attendee’s will get to meet her entire transition team and find out what her goals are for the first 100 days in office.

Montgomery County leaders hold a special ceremony to honor Vets ahead of the Holiday

At 1 today, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, county leaders and veterans will hold a ceremony dedicating the plaza as Memorial Plaza in honor of Veterans. Leaders will also unveil the Eternal Flame as a continued reminder of their service to all Americans. Today’s program will take place at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville.

“Concert of Valor” expected to bring Thousands to National Mall

Rihanna, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Carrie Underwood and others will perform tomorrow at the “Concert of Valor” on the National Mall. The event starts at 7pm. Other special guest paying tribute to American Veterans include Jamie Foxx and Tom Hanks. Look for road closures to begin tomorrow morning at 6am. Metro riders should expect big delays
