IRS Online Filing Service Experiencing Technical Difficulties On Tax Day

The Internal Revenue Service is experiencing problems with its own online filing service on Tax Day. Acting IRS Commissioner David Kautter says the online service taxpayers use to file their returns is partially down. The IRS confirmed the issue in a statement this morning. Kautter told a congressional hearing today that a number of IRS systems are unavailable, but taxpayers should continue to file returns as they normally would. Today is the final day taxpayers can file returns or pay what they owe for 2017 without an extension.

Report Indicates Woman Nearly Sucked From Plane Leaving LaGuardia

Passengers are sharing harrowing accounts of pulling a woman back into a plane after a window imploded on board a flight leaving New York’s LaGuardia Airport. A young woman was partially sucked out of the plane, according to her father, after one of the plane’s engines blew and forced an emergency landing. There were 149 people aboard the flight, which left LaGuardia this morning and landed in Philadelphia around 11:30 a.m. Some passengers were seen leaving the plane on crutches, at least one person was hospitalized, and photos of the aircraft show shredded and twisted metal around the engine inlet.

Hidden Camera Found In PG County School

Investigators are trying to figure out how a hidden camera ended up inside an administration office at a Prince George’s County public school and why. Police were notified after someone spotted the device yesterday morning. Authorities did not release the name of the school where it was found as the investigation is still ongoing. Police believe it could be accessed remotely and has been in the office for several months. Officials assured parents that it was not found near a bathroom or inside a school locker room.
