National Newspaper To Document African American Family Histories

African Americans can have parts of their family stories recording by the USA Today newspaper. Those interested are encouraged to go to usatoday.com to register.

USA Today is inviting African Americans to share what they know about their family history. The newspaper notes that America’s many years of slavery dissolved families and stripped away personal and family histories. USA Today is asking readers to share what they know about their family history with journalists. People can leave a short message on the 1619 Voices Project by calling 202-524-0992, or going to usatoday.com and typing Voices Project in the search bar. USA Today editors will reach out to document people’s stories.
