Police who fatally shot a suspect in Temple Hills is identified…

The Prince George’s County police officer involved in yesterday’s deadly shooting in Temple Hills has been identified. He is Corporal Josheph Keifline and he’s 10 year veteran of the county police department. The victim has also been identified as 23 year old Jose Alvarez. Police were reportedly after him after getting a 911 call from a resident that state that he was breaking into his vehicle.

There was a short foot chase, a scuffle and gun fire by the suspect and police in turn returned fire and shot and killed Alvarez. Corporal Keifline has been placed on administrative leave pending a full investigation in the case. A gun was removed from the scene.

The Senate delays vote on Kavanaugh…

This Thursday President Trumps choice to become the next Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been called off. Republicans have decided to postpone the vote until they hear from the nominee and the woman who claims that in the 1980’s that he sexually assaulted her at a party when they were teens.

Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford will appear next Monday before a Senate Judiciary Committee to tell their story. The incident allegedly happened when the two were students at the prestigious Holton Arms High School. Over 200 former classmates from Holton Arms have signed a petition in support of Dr. Ford. President Trump remains confident that he will be confirmed and he supports the hearing into the matter. Some lawmakers want a full FBI investigation.

New higher STD’s numbers in Maryland…

We have new numbers on the growing cases of sexually transmitted diseases in the state of Maryland. The main jump was among syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia. The Baltimore Sun report shows 44-thousand-967 case of these diseases in 2017, that was a 10.5% increase from 2016. Now this spike reflects the jump in the national STD rates as well.
