The Nation pays respect to Senator John McCain…

The casket of the late John McCain in now in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. A special private ceremony including his 106 year old mother Roberta, his wife, children and close family members took place earlier this morning. At 1 pm the doors will open for the public to pay their respects. The doors will stay open until 8 O’clock tonight.

Saturday former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush will deliver his Eulogy at the National Cathedral. On Sunday, the P.O.W., World War II hero and Senator will be laid to rest at his alma mater The Naval Academy. Senator McCain died on August 25th at his home from a terminal form of brain cancer. He was 81 years old.

Thousands take part in Aretha Franklin’s funeral in Detroit…

Thousands of fans are paying their respect to the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin. Funeral services are being held right now at Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Michigan.

Outside, dozens of pink Cadilac are lining the streets of the church. Its in tribute to Franklin’s 1985 hit “Freeway of Love”.  Today a number of celebrities will sing at her ceremony including Steve Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill Ariana Grande, Fantasia and Jennifer Holliday.  Former Presidents Bill Clinton, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder as well at the Rev. Jesse Jackson are due to speak at her funeral

Fairfax Police charge Jholie Moussa’s ex in her death…

After months of accusations police have arrested the ex boyfriend of 16 year old Jholie Moussa. 18 year old Neibiyu Ebrahim has been charged with first degree murder.

Ebrahim is due to make his first court appearance on the murder charge some time today. The medical examiner ruled that she died from suffocation by smothering and blunt force trauma.

Moussa who was first classified by police as a run away was found two weeks after the family reported her missing in Woodland Park. Ebrahim lives within walking distance of where her body was found on January 13, 2018.

Visitation and mail at PG Correction sites have been suspended…

Effective immediately and as a precaution all non legal visitations and mail to Prince George’s County Department of Corrections have been suspended. The reason because of drugs the entered facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania that appeared to be opioid related.

No one in any facilities in Maryland have become sick from opioid exposure and the move it to prevent that from happening locally. All legal visits and mail will continue to go through the normal process.
