Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps

  • Jazz Saxophonist Art Sherrod Jr. will be at Blues Alley featuring Ann Nesby this Friday and Saturday for two shows each night at 8p and 10pm.
  • The Alfred Street Baptist Church Men’s Ministry is hosting a Men’s One Day Conference – “Excellence Without Excuses”. The conference will take place this Saturday from 8am – 1pm
  • Also on Saturday, Sisters Network, Inc is joining in the fight against breast cancer. They are hosting a free conference for Black women entitled “Passport to Survivorship”. This event is from 10am to 1pm….more info at
  • The Vintage Virginia Wine Festival is taking place over the weekend, from 11am – 6pm at Bull Run Park, in Centreville, Virginia. Enjoy samples by more than 50 wineries including over 250 award-winning Virginia wines, educational seminars, fine art exhibits, children’s activities, food and live entertainment.
