Taking it to the Streets Weekend Haps

  • Tonight you can join Tony Richards, Taylor Thomas and Bobby Gailes for the 2015 Neighborhood Award Official WHUR Send –Off Party at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club hosted by Junior from the Steve Harvey Morning Show with music by Spur of the Moment, Maysa, Carol Riddick and Jeff Bradshaw. We will be celebrating all of our DMV Neighborhood Awards Nominees.
  • Also at the Howard Theatre tonight you can see comedian legends Paul Mooney and Dick Gregory at 8pm. I’m sure this show will leave you laughing and thinking.
  • On Friday Phil Perry will be at the Birchmere for a night of great music. The show starts at 7:30p.
  • Saturday afternoon the 25th Annual Manassas African-American Heritage Festival will be taking place from 12noon to 6pm at the Metz Middle School in Manassas, Virginia. There will be more than 125 exhibitors, including arts and crafts dealer, retailers for African wares, colleges and schools, health fair, business and job expos, classic car show, and great food vendors.
  • Now Saturday evening, the Legends and Heavy Hitters of Soul will be at the Show Place Arena at 6pm. This show features Millie Jackson, Latimore, Clarence Carter and more.
  • Now the legendary Spinners will be at the Event Center at Hollywood Casino at Charlestown Races. Saturday night so if you’re up for the drive I’m sure it will diffidently be worth it.
  • And finally on Sunday Hoodlarious will be at the Howard theatre for a night of comedy with the one and only Luenell. The show starts at 7:30
