 This morning on Taking it to the Streets, we have your Weekend Haps update, a list of events and activities for the entire family:

  • Tomorrow we are going to be all over the city. You can come start of by join WHUR, Mayor Vincent C. Gray and Council member Kenyan McDuffie at the Chuck Brown Memorial Park Dedication at 2901 20th street North East Washington DC from 11am -2pm.
  • Now, you can also join WHUR and Chante Moore  all this weekend at the Ubiquitous Hair and Health Trade Show 2014 at the Omni Hotel .  There will be seminars, panel discussions, demonstrations and performances by Chrisette Michele  and Maurette Brown Clark .  For more details and ticket info go to Ubiquitous hair and health show dot com
  •  Also on Friday, WHUR and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center are partnering to present a music series called Music Therapy In The Park. The goal is to utilize music as a tool to help treat military veterans with PTSD.   Our first concert will be at the Sylvan Theatre on the National Monument Grounds starting at 3pm. So, make sure you come out and support the troops.
  • Now Kim Waters will be in town this tomorrow for an imamate show at the Birchmere.  Show starts at 7:30 and is sure to be a great night.
  • And  Joe Clair is back at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club for a night of comedy with Friday Night Funnies featuring B-Phlat, TuRae Gordon and Laughin Lenny.   There will be two shows,  one and 7 and another at 10.
  • On Saturday, The Chapter Six, Montford Point Marine Association is celebrating 72 years of Community Service and Commitment to America with a Doo-Wop Concert at the Echo Stage on Queens Chapel Road in NE DC.  Starting at 1pm.
