The ESSENCE: ROAD: The 20th Anniversary Festival event on the 17th at Walmart in Laurel.
WHUR is the stage host and DJ Class from the Frank Ski Show is the DJ along with Nikki Strong and Michel Wright will also be there.  Performances by Avery Sunshine and Marsha Ambrosius  and Appearances by Bridgette Bartlett-Royall, Nicole Melton and Faith Hunter


Join the Friends of Fort Hunt Park, WHUR Radio Fitness Personality Darryl Haley and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center in a family-friendly wellness and appreciation event to celebrate active Duty Military Personnel, Veterans and their families. The event takes place Saturday May 17th from 10am – 3pm at the Fort Hunt Park Picnic Pavillion B in Alexandria, VA.


The Leadership of Prince George’s will be hold a Boys to Men, Girls to Women youth Conference for Middle School Students Saturday May 17th from 9am- 3-pm at the Prince George’s Community College, Largo Student Center. The young men and women will learn how to be a leader in their community at this one-day conference filled with workshops, fun, food, music and networking opportunities.


The 7th annual “Delivering Solutions for Total Body Health Fair”  will take place on Saturday, May 17th from 10am to 2pm at the Fairland Sports and Aquatics Complex. This will be a interactive heath fair that will allow participants to join in classes, training sessions, and have free bone density, hearing, vision, blood pressure, Cholesterol screenings and many other heath related activites.
