White House: Trump Denies Daniels Affair

After the “60 Minutes” interview, President Trump once again is debying any allegations of an affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2006. So said White House spokesman Raj Shah in a briefing today. He also cast doubt on Daniels’ claim that she was pressured to remain silent and threatened by a man in a parking lot in Las Vegas. Shah noted that there’s no corroboration to support the claim. Shah said the President has consistently denied any involvement with Daniels, who made a highly-anticipated appearance on CBS’ “60 Minutes” last night.

California Senator Endorses Maryland Gubernatorial Candidate Ben Jealous

California Democratic Senator Kamala Harris is giving her support to one of the Democrats in the Maryland governor’s race. Harris is joining U.S. senators Cory Book and Bernie Sanders in backing Ben Jealous. A recent poll found the former NAACP president trailing other Democratic candidates with 14-percent support. Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker leads the Democratic primary field at 26 percent.

Wizards’ Wall Practices Again

Washington Wizards point guard John Wall says he
feels good after a pair of full-contact practices but is not sure
when he will return to game action for his struggling team. Wall spoke to reporters on Monday, his first remarks in Washington
since having surgery on his left knee Jan. 31. He said he lost
about 10 or 15 pounds during his rehab, without intending to. The Wizards have lost three consecutive games heading into Tuesday night against the visiting San Antonio Spurs. Coach Scott Brooks said Wall will not play in that game.

Cherry Blossom Festival Opens

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is officially underway. Festivities kicked off with the Opening Ceremony last evening at the Warner Theatre. However, due to the chilly weather recently, the National Park Service has readjusted its peak bloom prediction to April 8th through the 12th. Historically, the average peak bloom date for the cherry trees is April 3rd.
