FCC Received Over 1,000 Complaints Over Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallion’s Grammy Performance

Get into this! According to the Rolling Stone, the Federal Communications Commission received over 1,000 emails following Rapper Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s WAP performance on the 2021 Grammy’s. Some say that the performance was inappropriate and “disgusting” for television. There were a lot of people who thought the performance was about women’s empowerment and embracing female sexuality but others, not so much.

One complaint stated “This is really something for women and girls to aspire to (during Women’s history month). You have got to be kidding me. This was a disgusting display of nothing more than sl*** being sl***.”

Another situation occured quite similar to this one during the 2016 Super Bowl performance featuring Beyonce where she embraced the Black Panther culture and the FCC received about 47 complaints. Should these award shows feature songs of this caliber since families may be watching together?
