Mary J. Blige: “In My Lowest Moments, I Find Out What I Am Made Of”

The wait is over family! Mary J. Blige‘s highly-anticipated album Strength of a Woman is available today. The Queen called into the Steve Harvey Morning Show Friday to talk to Steve about how much this project meant to her as well as her excitement to share it with the world.

“In my lowest moments, I find out what I am made of,” Mary told the SHMS.

Mary has been very open about the the end of her 12-year marriage and revealed, in a recent interview, she is really struggling emotionally to get through her divorce. Encouragement from fans have helped Mary get through some of the darkest moments of this ordeal. “I’m good. I’m cool. I’m blessed.”

“It took a long time to get to this point where I love myself and can say it,” Mary explains about “Love Yourself,” a song on the album featuring Kanye West. “God gave me this life so I have to love it and cherish it. That’s what ‘Love Yourself’ is about.”

The album is available today but May 2 fans get a chance to see Mary at work in the studio making the magic happen during the airing of her Strength of a Woman documentary on VH1.
