Faith Leaders Gather In DC To Honor MLK, End Racism

They’re calling it one of the largest gatherings of faith leaders on the National Mall since the 1963 March on Washington. The “A.C.T. to End Racism Rally” is taking place today on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination. Organizers say the faith community has a moral conscience and responsibility to address and end racism in the U.S. Reverend Dr. Sharon Watkins with the National Council of Churches says that Christian churches across the country “are both part of the problem and the solution.” Events include a prayer walk to the National Mall from the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, ending with a rally.

PG County Man Found Guilty Of Murdering Ex-Girlfriend And 2-Year-Old Daughter

A Prince George’s County man is facing life in prison for murdering his ex-girlfriend and their two-year-old daughter. A jury found Daron Boswell-Johnson guilty yesterday of fatally shooting NeShante Davis and their daughter Chloe outside of their Fort Washington home in February 2016. Police say Boswell-Johnson killed the two following a dispute over child support.

Police Update YouTube Shooting

Police say Nasim Aghdam spent time at a local gun-range before the deadly shooting at YouTube’s headquarters in San Bruno, California. San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini also told reporters today Aghdam acted alone in the shooting. Barberini said it appears Aghdam’s motive was related to YouTube’s content policies. Aghdam is accused of opening fire at the YouTube headquarters, before turning the gun on herself. Three people were injured, with one in critical condition and the others with less serious injuries.

Ravens Sign RG3

The Ravens have agreed to a one-year deal with quarterback Robert Griffin the Third. GM Ozzie Newsome told a pre-NFL draft news conference this morning that “RG3” worked out with the team last week and will probably sign the deal next week. Griffin last played in 2016 for the Cleveland Browns. The 28-year-old was a first-round draft pick by Washington in 2012 and spent four seasons with the Redskins.
