Trump’s Former Campaign Chairman Paul Manafort Turns Himself In

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election has nabbed its first targets. President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort and a former Manafort business associate were indicted on felony charges, including conspiracy against the United States and money laundering. Meantime, former campaign adviser to Trump, George Papadopoulos admitted he lied to the FBI about his contacts with the Russians. The charges spark a new phase of the Mueller investigation and have many insiders wondering how high up the probe will eventually go.

Shooting Near DC School

DC Police are on the scene of a double shooting this morning near Savoy Elementary School. Details are still sketchy. But authorities say two male victims were shot around 11am in the 24-hundred block of Martin Luther King Junior Avenue, SE. No word on the suspects or the condition of the victims.

Young Woman Killed As Boy Attempts Suicide

A 22-year-old Marymount University Graduate student is dead after a 12-year-old boy trying to commit suicide landed on the SUV she was driving. Virginia state police say the 12-year old jumped from an overpass on I-66 over the weekend. He’s reported to be in critical condition. Marisa Harris died instantly. A passenger in the car with her was not seriously hurt.

DC finds out today if they will host the 2022 Gay Games…

DC Officials are keeping their fingers cross and hoping they are selected to host the 2022 Gay Games. An announcement is expected today, DC is one of top 3 finalists. The Mayor’s office says the event would bring 15,000 attendees into the city and it would be a big boost to the economy.
