Investigators in the District are looking into the early morning shooting of a man
on Bruce Place in S.E.. The victim was shot in the chest. He later died at the hospital. His identity and a motif in the case have not been released.

Metro says there will be normal service on Friday, despite a possible “Sick Out”…

Metro Officials say they have denied all 500 employees who requested Friday off for medical reasons. Officials say metro bus and rail will run on a normal schedule despite talks of a possible “Sick Out”. Union President Jackie Jeter says employees are simply complying with company guidelines. Metro says employee’s who do not show up will have their absence marked in their disciplinary file.
