Ice on the roads delays the start of school for thousands …

The icy conditions for many roadways prompted Loudoun and Fauquier County Schools to close today. Now on a 2-hour delay, we have Prince George’s, Charles, Montgomery, Calvert and Anne Arundel Counties in Maryland. In Virginia, Fairfax, Prince William, Culpepper, Frederick and Stafford Counties.

Md’s second-largest school system kicks off “Black Lives Matter Week”…

Starting today the entire Prince George’s County School System will begin the “Black Lives Matter Week of Action in School”. Now, this program is a little different than the national movement that was started in 2014. Activities will include instruction about “Structional Racism, Intersectional Black identities and Black History”.

Three days and counting to another possible Government shutdown…

Lawmakers on the hill are back at it. Leaders from both sides are scrambling to work out a deal to avert a government shutdown set for February 8th if they can not come up with a budget to fund the government. The sticking point remains immigration. Sources say it’s likely an extension will be issued.
