DC leaders unveil the outcome from new standardized test result for students in 3rd to 8th grade…

Right now DC Mayor Muriel Bowser & School Chancellor Kia Henderson are holding a press conference to release the results of this year’s new PARCC tests. PARCC stands for Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers. It’s replaces the annual standardized DC CAS test.

First Freddie Gray trial begins in Baltimore…

In Baltimore, jury selection began earlier this morning for the first of 6 police officers charged in the death of 25 year old Freddie Gray. William Porter who is expected to take the stand reportedly told the driver of the police transport van that gray asked to go to the hospital. Porter faces up to 25 years, if convicted of all the charged filed against him.

A crash with a postal tractor trail leaves two clinging onto life…

Two people involved in this mornings crash with a U.S. Postal tractor trailer are in critical condition. They had to be cut out of the vehicle after the cab of the truck landed on top of their SUV in Silver Spring. Officials hope to reopen Cherry Hill Road and Calverston Boulevard to traffic at the top of the hour.
