Prisoner Assaye Is Apprehended In DC

A manhunt for an escaped prisoner is over in Washington DC.  Police recaptured 42-year-old Wossen Assaye [[WOE-sen uh-SAH-yey]] nine hours after he overpowered a hospital security guard and took her weapon.  A spokesman for the U.S. Marshal’s Service had described him as armed and dangerous.  The prisoner is accused in a string of bank robberies in northern Virginia. 

PG Officer Suspended Over Off-Duty Incident

A Prince George’s County police officer is being suspended following an off-duty incident.  Police say Corporal Jesse Stewart is facing a misdemeanor reckless endangerment charge.  They say the incident happened on March 23rd but won’t make any details public.  An internal affairs investigation of the 21-year veteran of the force is underway.

Report: Cell Phone Video Shows Final Moments Of Germanwings Flight

A disturbing cell phone video recovered from the wreckage of the crashed Germanwings flight reportedly shows the plane’s final moments.  “Paris Match and Bild” are reporting the short video was taken last week from inside the plane and includes the screams of passengers as they realized their fate.  Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz locked the plane’s captain out of the cockpit and deliberately crashed the jet into the French Alps.  A German prosecutor says Lubitz’s medical records show he had received treatment for suicidal thoughts.

FBI Identifies Man Killed In NSA Incident

The man who died in a shooting incident at NSA headquarters in Fort Meade is being identified.  The FBI says 27-year-old Ricky Hall was shot and killed when a vehicle tried to enter a secure area of the spy agency yesterday morning.  A passenger and an NSA Police officer were also injured.  Authorities say the men were dressed as women, but not in attempt to disguise themselves.  Police reportedly opened fire when they tried to enter an NSA gate in a stolen SUV.
