New York escapee remains in critical condition…

Officials in New York say escape prisoner David Sweat remains in critical condition at an area hospital. On Sunday, a State Trooper shot Sweat as he tried to run across a open field. Sweat’s partner Richard Matt died on Friday, when boarder patrol agents shot him. Sources say the two eluded hound dogs for almost 3 weeks by using pepper to cover their scent.

Maryland’s Governor is battling with stage 4 cancer…

Maryland’s New Governor Larry Hogan has completed his first treatment of Chemotherapy for stage 4 non-Hodgin’s Lymphoma. In a recent face book posting, Governor Hogan said he was moved by the state wide prayer vigils for him and all of the words of encouragement.

The District kicks off its Summer Youth Jobs Program…

Today’s the first day on the job for some 15,000 residents between the ages of 14 and 24 who are apart of the city’s Summer Youth Jobs Program. Those in the program will be trained on various job skills and paid for it, over the next 6 weeks. At 11 this morning Mayor Bowser will hold a round table discuss at Enlightened Inc., an IT firm that will be working with 11 young people this summer.
