“Heat Advisory” issued for our listening area …

The National Weather Service has issued a “Heat Advisory” for the entire WHUR listening area beginning at Noon and ending at 8 tonight. Everyone is advised to limit their outdoor exposure. You should also keep a close eye on small children and the elderly during extreme temperatures like today.

Family of Sandra Bland order a private autopsy of her death in a Texas jail cell…

The family of Sandra Bland, the black woman arrest in Texas earlier this month following a traffic stop and who ended up dead in her cell three days later are awaiting results from a private autopsy they requested. The results are due back in the next 48 to 72 hours.

Accused NW Mansion murder due back in court today…

At 10:30 this morning the sole person charged in the Savopoulis Mansion murders, Daron Wint, will appear in court for a hearing. Investigators believe that he did not act alone but no one else has been charged.

Metro Officials create a new position following Red line Metro smoke death…

Metro Officials are planning to hold a 1:45 press conference to unveil a new position that they have created in the wake of the Red Line smoke death earlier this year. The position, Fire & Rescue Liaison.
