A spike in crime in DC has police working overtime…

There were five armed robberies in the District last night and four shootings, one involving a police officer on 23rd Street in N.W.. Surprising there were no reported deaths.

Dashcam video from Texas State Troop in the Sandra Bland case may have been edited…

Several news media outlets are raising concern about what appears to be edits or glitches seen on the 52 minute dashcam video from the Texas State Trooper who arrested Sandra Bland. Three days later Bland was found hanging in her jail cell from a trash bag attached to a ceiling fixture. The Waller County Police Department is treating the case like a murder investigation. A private autopsy is due back today.

Maryland State employee’s plan to hold rallies today to protest plan cuts…

This afternoon Maryland state employee’s plan to hold rallies to protest plans by Governor Larry Hogan to make some make big cuts to staff. Locally there will be a 6:00 rally in Landover Hills at Ascension Lutheran Church and School. In Baltimore, state workers will gather at 5:30 at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Baker Street and Pennsylvania Avenue and North Avenue.
