DC Police arrest a 17 year old in connection to a shooting death of a 3 year old…

A 17 year old male has been taken into police custody and charged in connection with the death of 3 year old Dalis Cox last month. The shooting happened inside on an apartment on 46th Place in S.E..

DC’s Mayor & Police Chief vow to combat the up tick in violence in the city…

DC Mayor and Police Chief are vowing to get a handle on the rash of violence in the city. During a press conference yesterday Police Chief Cathy Lanier said there have been 88 homicides this year a 26% jump from this time last year. Right now the city’s closure rate is 55% thanks due in part to the community. That number is expected to increase as more arrests are expected.

Prince George’s County leaders have a change of heart, District 7 Police station will open in the fall as planned…

Following a public outcry, Prince George’s County leaders say they will open the newly constructed District 7 Police Station in Ft. Washington once it is completed in October or November. It will first be staffed with 6 police officers and then an additional 30 will be added in January.
