DC Police ask for the public’s help after releasing a video of 6 persons of interest in weekend Shaw neighborhood shooting…

Crime is up 30% in the city compared to this time last year. This morning police need your help in solving the fatal shooting of 24 year old Matthew Shlonski who was caught in the middle of a gun fight in the Shaw neighborhood on Saturday. Police have released a video showing 6 persons of interest involved in the deadly shooting. Investigators say Shlonski was not the intended target.

Former Fairfax County Police Officer turns himself into police following a grand jury indictment on murder charges…

For the first time in the departments history an Fairfax County Police Officer has been charged with fatally shooting an unarmed man two years ago during a domestic call. 32 year old Adam Torres turned himself into police yesterday. He remains in jail without bond.

Free Metro rail rides for DC Students …

Things are changing in the District for school kids. A new program announced by Chancellor Kaya Henderson will now allow students to ride on metro rail for free to get to school. It’s an expansion of the city’s program that allows students to ride metro bus for free.
