A local group protests for justice for Natasha McKenna…

Member and supporters of the group Showing up for Racial Justice Northern Va are gathered outside of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center with a petition demanding the firing of 6 officers involved in the death of Natasha McKenna will be given to the Sheriff. In 2015 McKenna was arrested after reporting an assault. While in she was forceably removed from her cell naked, tasered 4 times while in restraint & later died at the hospital. None of the officers involved were charged with a crime.

President Obama prepares to pay his respect to the Dallas officers killed…

President Obama will attend tomorrow’s interfaith service for the 5 Dallas Police Officers ambushed during a rally last week. Dallas Black Lives Matter protestors and counterprotesters joined together yesterday in support law enforcement. The gunman who was killed by a robot with explosives has been identified as Micah Johnson. Items found in the army vets home and in his journal showed he had a much bigger attack planned.

11 am White House guns protest planned for today…

Growing national concern over guns in our country has prompted the group “We the people for sensible gun laws” to stage a rally outside of the White House at 11 this morning.
