The country honor’s the memory of those killed on September 11, 14 years ago today…

The President and the First Lady lead the nation in a moment of silence this morning, marking the exact time when the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. The President heads to Ft. Meade to take part in a special ceremony there. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser honored first responder’s at Engine Company 16 in N.W. earlier this morning. At 2 this afternoon, a public ceremony will be held at the Pentagon for employee’s. Tributes and ceremonies are being held all across the country marking the 14th Anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks that calmed 2,977 lives in NY, DC & Pennsylvania.

Baltimore’s Mayor Rawlings-Blake says she is not running for re election…

In Baltimore, the Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has announced that she will not seek reelection next year. Her announcement follows harsh criticism over how the city handle the Freddie Gray riots in April, a $6.4 million dollar settlement in the Freddie Gray case and a decision by a judge not to move the trial of the 6 Officers accused in his death out of Baltimore. Rawlings-Blake won the Mayor’s race in 2011 following Shelia Dixon stepping down in scandal. Dixon by the way is running for Mayor again.

Former MD Delegate James Proctor Jr passes away…

Flags in the state of Maryland are being flown at half staff in memory of former Md Delegate James Proctor Jr. The 79 year old served Prince George’s and parts of Charles Counties for 20 plus years.

NY City Officials apologize to former Tennis star James Blake for a violent arrest for a crime he did not commit…

The violent way former tennis star James Blake was tackled and wrongly arrested remains under investigation in New York. The Mayor and the Police Commissioner have both contacted Blake to personally to apologize for what police say was “Mistaken Identity” & Blake has accepted their apologizes. The officer involved has been stripped of his badge and gun and placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
