Murder Suicide claims the life of a mother of 4 in Largo…

Four children are without a mother this morning. Prince George’s County Police say Tanya Wilkerson was killed during a murder suicide yesterday in Largo. It’s believed Wilkerson was shot first by a man and then he turned the gun on himself. He has not been identified. Others inside the home at the time of the incident on Joycetown Way were not injured.

New report out on dangers of “Walking While Black”…

A new report is out and it finds that “Walking While Black” is dangerous to African American’s. The study conducted by Arizona and Portland State University found that drivers are less likely to stop for a African American person on a crosswalk. It also found the African American pedestrians wait about 32% longer to cross a busy street than white pedestrians.

Va’s Gov. prepares to host UNCF luncheon…

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliff is preparing to host tomorrow’s United Negro College Fund Luncheon in Arlington. The goal of this year’s fundraising event is to increase diversity in the area’s of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
