Parents in Charles County prepare for a possible school bus strike…

Parents in Charles County with school age kids may choose to pick-up their children from school this afternoon. The bus drivers are threatening to strike today over pay and the right to unionize. Schools Officials say anyone who rode a bus into school today will be taken home, they just may arrive later than normal as drivers who choose to stay and work double up on shifts. There is a number for parents to check on the status at 301-932-6-6-1-zero.

No word on the person found in a SUV in the Anacostia River…

No word on the identity of the adult male found submerged in an SUV in the Anacostia River last night. The hummer was removed from the water earlier this morning. The cause is still under investigation.

The mother of murdered DC Special Education teacher holds a news conference…

We are awaiting a press conference today by the mother of Alonzo Smith. Smith is the DC Special Education Teacher who died while being detained by two apartment security guards last month. Smith’s mother plans to ask for a independent investigation into her sons death that has been ruled a homicide.

June 13th is the retrial date for William Porter…

June 13th is the new trial date for William Porter. The decision comes just days after his first trial ended in a hung jury. Porter’s trial will now be after the other 5 former police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray. Attorney Warren Brown believes it is going to be very hard for a jury to reach a verdict in any of the
Freddie Gray cases. The next officer to go on trail will be Caesar Goodson on January 6th.
