DC Police give an update on 7 year old who was shot…

DC Police just held a news conference updating the public on the 7 year old girl shot who was shot late Friday night in S.E. as she walked home with her family. She is reportedly is in fair and stable condition. Police say they will be back out along Knox Place later today. Police are offering a reward of up to $10k for the gunman.

Laurel police shooting a burglary suspect…

Laurel has reported its first police involved shooting since 2003. It happened last night when officers responded to a security alarm at a International grocery store. A 20 year male suspect found in the store was shot, he is still listed in stable condition. A 15 year old taken into custody a short time later, has since been released to his parents. The officer was not injured.

First of 3 brothers in Officer Colson’s death is due in court today…

Later today the youngest of three brothers charged in connection with last months friendly fire death of Officer Jacai Colson is due in court today. 18 year old Elijah Ford who is a Bowie H.S. student is due for a preliminary hearing in the case. Elijah & his 21 year old brother Malik faces attempted murder and conspiracy charges in the case. Their older brother 22 year old Michael is the accused gunman.

New Jackie Robinson documentary airs tonight…

Tonight a new documentary on the life of legendary baseball Hall of Fame Jackie Robinson will debut. It’s a four hour piece entitled “Jackie Robinson. The film shows the conflicts that number 42 faced in breaking baseball’s color barrier. Filmmaker Ken Burns told “NBC’s Today’s show that the film also features comments from President Obama and the First Lady. Tonight’s two part series airs a 9pm on PBS.
