The mass shooting at Emanuel AME is remembered today…

Today marks the 1st Anniversary of the deadly mass shooting at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC. The Pastor and 8 parishioners were gunned down during Bible study by a self proclaimed white supremacist. South Carolina’s Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to speak at this mornings service to honor the victims.

The GOP looses major sponsors for RNC…

Republican leaders have a new issue on their hands in their quest to regain the White House. This morning Metrosource is reporting several big sponsors are pulling out of the RNC in Cleveland. They include Wells Fargo, Ford, JPMorgan Chase, UPS, Walgreens and Motorola.

Phase two of Metro’s Safe Track plan begins at midnight…

Metro needs 3 out of 10 passengers to find another way to get to work for the next 16 days. Starting at Midnight the Orange, Blue and Silver lines will be closed between Eastern Market and Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue. P.G. County commuters will really feels the impact and County Executive Rushern Baker wants residents prepared. 70 thousand commuters will be affected by this second phase of Metro’s Safe Track plan.
