The nation prepares for the DNC….

There’s no telling if Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump will get a jump in the polls following last night speech. He did however get a jump to his campaign to the tune of $4 million dollars in one day. Trump told supporters he’s the “law and order” candidate. Now that the RNC is over, the focus shifts to the Democratic National Convention. Hillary Clinton is expected to announce her running mate today or tomorrow.

DC leaders talk about cooling efforts for residents…

At 12:30 DC City Officials will hold a press conference to address how they well help residents deal with the excessive temperatures expected over the next few days. The plan includes extending splash park hours to 9pm, adding 4 additional ambulance at fire houses for heat emergency’s and opening more cooling centers. We will have more tonight on the Daily Drum.

The NBA moves the All-Star Games out of North Carolina….

The NBA has decided not to hold the 2017 All Star Games in Charlotte, NC because of the states’ transgender bathroom law. A new location has not been announced. Starting at 9 tonight the league will begins stream 9 exhibition games on Facebook.
