You can join WHUR for our annual Dr. Martin Luther King town hall at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. It’s from 10 to Noon and it’s free and open to all. This year we will have a town hall discussion with millennials. Special speaker Donna Brazille and special musical performance by Gospel great Donald Lawrence.

FBI joins in on the search for KKK letters left in communities in Virginia…

The FBI is joining police in Loudoun and Purceville in the search for who is responsible for KKK letter left at parks, in mailboxes, and on driveways. Authorities say no one home was targeted. Officials in Loudoun County plan to continue with today’s annual MLK walk at 10 at the Loudoun County courthouse.

Md Senator kicks off $15 an hour campaign to mark MLK’s Poor People’s campaign 50th Anniversary…

Maryland Senator Richard Madaleno is planning to join other lawmakers and the Maryland Fight for $15 Coalition today in Annapolis. The group is planning a 5 pm kick-off for their campaign to get the state minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2023. Leaders plan to detail their year-long efforts.
