At 10 this morning officials from Joint Base Andrews will hold a town hall meeting about the investigation into the F-16 fighter jet that when down in Clinton earlier this month. Some residents have been complaining of smelling jet fuel. Officials will answer the public questions about the search for parts and safety concerns. The town hall will be held at The Colony South Hotel.

Maryland’s Legislative Black Caucus will hold a 10 a.m. press conference calling on Governor Larry Hogan to call a one-day special session to address medical marijuana licensing. A bill to expand the industry to include more minorities failed to make it through the 90-day legislative session. The group says despite a state diversity law, none of the 15 companies granted preliminary licenses were minority-owned. They also say pre-approved licenses for two companies were taken away due to improper conduct by the Medical Cannabis Commission.

Six Howard University Students and Almuni receive Fulbright Award…

Howard University is celebrating 6 students and alumni who have been named the 2017 -2018 Fulbright awardees. This prestigious award is for academic or professional achievement and demonstrated leadership potential in their field. The students will also be given grants to study, conduct research and teach abroad during the academic year. The winners are Briana Applewhite of Olney, Md, Wen-kuni Ceant of Ft Lauderdale, Fl, Chiamaka Ikpeze of Rochester, NY, Chelsea Nnebe of East Brunswick NJ, Jakiya Pyron of Trenton, NJ and Brittany Scott of Nashville, Tn.
