Officials Call For Calm, Understanding In Wake Of Manchester Bombing

British officials today are calling for calm in the wake of last night’s deadly terror bombing after an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. At a news conference, Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said feelings in the community are raw and he called for calm, support and understanding as the investigation continues. He said there will be no tolerance of hate against any parts of the diverse Manchester community. Hopkins confirmed 22-year-old Salmon Abedi as the man suspected of the bombing outside Manchester Arena that killed at least 22 people, including children, and wounded dozens more. ISIS has claimed responsibility and called the attacker a “soldier.”

Alt-Right Leader Banned From VA Gym

A leader of the “alt-right” movement is crying foul after he was called out for spreading hate. The Old Town Sport-And-Health club in Alexandria has terminated the membership of Richard Spencer after he was confronted by a fellow gym member last week. Christine Fair says she confronted Spencer while he was working out and called him a “Nazi.” Spencer believes the action is unfair because he says he’s been a model gym-goer. Fair, meanwhile, is encouraging others to openly confront people who encourage hate.
